"The Ghosts of Peace" is a cyanotype artwork that captures the shadows of the dead flowers of all my peace lilies... their shadows just as beautiful as when they stood fresh, white and fragile; now browning and heavy under their own weight - they shone, they've done their work, and now they rest beneath glass under a blazing sun - preserved forever in this cameraless photograph.
With it's white lily-like flowers, the Peace Lily is frequently associated with purity, innocence, prosperity, and sympathy (and peace, of course). Part of my Memento Mori series, which explores the beautiful side of death and it's inevitability, these artworks honour the plants that made them; how far they have all come, and grown in their own unique ways.
The artwork is approx. A3, and is sold unframed.
