As part of my 30 by 30 art challenge - I created this series of cyanotypes as a direct response to items I had collected while litter-picking on Torquay seafront (Corbyn Beach).

I think there's something quite morbidly fascinating/ macabre about the similarities between the finished results of my artworks and what sealife see in the water - they are just shapes, shadows... non-threatening nothings, almost appealing; which is why they are such a danger to animals. The ghostly shapes, appear to float and dance and there is certainly a level of beauty, whether or not that should be celebrated or not is down to the individual. We can at least celebrate the fact that they are on my page and no longer in the sea or on the shore...

Each cyanotype is completely one of a kind, and helped make a difference to the safety of the beach. Even the paper itself is made from recycled takeaway coffee cups!!

Artworks priced to include a £5 donation to Marine Conservation Society (50%)

I think it's fascinating to see such a wide range of blue tones across this series, it really mimics the changing colours of the sea, with greys, greens, and whites because it's rarely just blazing blues... especially in the UK!

*** All pieces will soon be ironed, and I will pencil on the title, number and sign them. But I just wanted to get them up on my shop!

Why not add a magnetic print hanger?
