Why I Chose Teemill for My Clothing Line: Cute & Sustainable Women's Tees, Yes Please!

OKAY - why am I so obsessed with my silly little tops??

Over the last four years, I’ve dipped my toes into just about every print-on-demand (POD) service you can name. Some had tons of choice but felt... morally murky. Others ticked all the eco boxes but were clunky to use or didn’t vibe with my aesthetic. Something was always just a bit off.

Then I found 💙 Teemill 💙 & finally everything clicked.

The Teemill Difference

Teemill isn’t just another POD platform - it’s a movement. Their entire setup is designed with the planet (& people) in mind.

Here’s why I made the switch:

  • Zero Waste, Made-to-Order: Every item is printed only when someone buys it, which means no overstock, no unsold items dumped in landfills, and no piles of t-shirts gathering dust in my studio.

  • Ethical, Organic Materials: Everything is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton and printed using water-based inks. No plastic. No toxic dyes. Just high-quality sustainable fashion.

  • Circular Fashion Model: When a garment’s worn out, you can send it back and it gets turned into something new. That’s circular fashion, baby.

  • Plastic-Free Packaging: Every order is shipped in biodegradable, plant-based packaging. No crinkly plastic mailers here. Plus, you can colour it in!

+ on top of all that, they’ve somehow managed to keep their clothing line actually nice to wear—soft fabrics, flattering cuts, and a growing catalogue that doesn’t feel like an afterthought.

Why I Don’t Keep Clothing Stock

Running a separate Teemill shop means I’m not holding stock, which:

  • Cuts down on waste

  • Lowers overhead costs

  • Keeps things flexible so I can release new designs without a massive financial outlay

  • Means I can provide designs for the whole family (yep, there's kids options too!)

And most importantly, it means you’re getting something that was made just for you.

...saying this, I miiiiight chose to buy up a small selection of tees for my upcoming pop-up shop at Studio Nine in Totnes (more on that here)

Let’s Talk Fast Fashion (Just for a Sec)

Look. I get it.

It’s tempting to click “add to cart” on that super cute sardine / Aperol print top on Temu or Shein... but deep down, you know the deal. Fast fashion giants are pumping out cheap knockoffs of independent artists’ designs while paying workers next to nothing and trashing the planet in the process.

You don’t really want that.

What you do want is a cute, meaningful top made by someone who actually designed it, who cares about how it was made, and who will do a happy little dance when you buy one. (Hi. That’s me.)

So, whether it’s an affirmation or nudey girly tee, or a celestial-inspired message wrapped in cozy cotton... when you buy from my Teemill shop, you’re:

  • Supporting a small business

  • Championing sustainable fashion

  • Getting something beautiful, ethical, and built to last

My favourite tops?

The Whole in Every Phase, "men's" but let's call it unisex, okay? in, wait for it... an XXL - omg so fucking comfy. I actually have three of these tops in different designs; one as pyjamas, one for mucky art days, and one for clean days... DREAM.

Close second, is the "No one is mad at you - pass it on...", which I wear a 16

Oh wait, hold on, I have to nominate a third item, it's a jumper, and it's THE BEST, I literally wear it most days, super comfy and cropped - so great with high waisted jeans or dresses (dream) and my chosen design for this is the HIGHER VIBRATIONS in a black size 18.

Okay, that's enough from me... wanna go shopping?
